Or maybe I’m entirely wrong – perhaps you’re excited about getting your hands dirty (both literally AND metaphorically)?
Either way, one thing’s for sure – maintaining your scooter is a must.
But if this is brand new territory for you, you might feel intimidating. So, to help you get started, here are 4 easy scooter maintenance tasks.
Job #1: Replacing the Air Filter
Job #2: Changing the Oil and Oil Filter
All you need is:
- A spanner set or socket handle set
- A pan or container to catch the old oil in
- An oil filter socket
Job #3: Checking Your Tire Pressure
It doesn’t take a genius to know why – your tires are what keeps you on the road, and underinflated tires can cause everything from poor fuel economy to increased stopping distance.
Fortunately, checking your tire pressure is easy – you only need a tire pressure gauge and a tire of course).
Job #4: Replace Your Spark Plugs
For scooters with internal combustion engines, the spark plugs are responsible for making the spark that ignites the air and fuel mixture inside the engine.
That’s assuming, of course, that you replace your old ones once they’ve become worn out or covered with oil and soot.
Fortunately, removing a spark plug is almost like removing a regular screw or bolt – and it’s all possible with a socket wrench.
